Spiralizer +Zucchini +Quinoa (Dinner Recipe)

Current Weight 174lbs.

Most people look at me and don't believe I'm 5'5" and weigh 174lbs. Whelp! I do! The thing is, I'm unhappy with that weight because prior to 2010 I was 150lbs for 10 whole years! So in the past 8 years, I've gained 24lbs. For some that may not seem like much, but to me it's a LOT! I can see and feel the change in my body from those measly 24lbs. I have a few extra pudges/rolls, my 2 mile run is definitely no longer 13:20! I feel like I need to call 9-1-1 every time I run up the stairs.

You'll never be everyone's cup of tea-- but who cares? I drink CHAMPAGNE

For all the ladies that have ever heard.......she's too BOUGIE! She's too STUCK UP! She's too OUTSPOKEN! She's forgotten where she come from!

Unfortunately, I must admit these are words and phrases I've heard quite often. They've become music to my ears! When I first heard these words, directed at me, I will be the first to confess I was heart broken! How could someone say such hurtful things to me? What did I do to make them feel like this towards me? I would often think to myself, "only if they knew my struggle" I'm sure they would see me differently, better yet understand why I'm the way I am. Wow! In hindsight, I was trying to explain MYSELF to someone ELSE why I wasn't their cup of tea!  Boy did I have that wrong! I had to forgive myself!

Eventually I learned that whatever a person thought of me or how they viewed me, had nothing to do with me! It had everything to do with them. This is what I'm challenging all my readers to realize and understand. If you ever run across someone that speak those words to you, immediately dismiss them. I do mean, dismiss the person and the words! Your peace of mind depends on it! Don't ask why! Don't try to explain yourself or convince/show them anything different! Just get away from them!

Honestly I'm so grateful, thankful, blessed, whatever you want to call it. I'm all of the aforementioned because I realized how some people can really mean you absolutely no good. These people can come in a variety of forms: Family, Friends, Neighbors, Co-Workers, etc. Oh yeah! Don't think those harsh words only come from STRANGERS!

Each time I read this quote I chuckle! I guess it's fitting so say, "but I drink Champagne now!" Some will get it, some won't. Again, that's not my concern. I get it! My BOUGIE-is now SOPHISTICATION! Me being STUCK Up-is now WISDOM! I know who's worthy of my company and presence. My OUTSPOKENNESS-is me being an EDUCATED woman! Oh yeah! My TEA has now turned to CHAMPAGNE!

How to Pick the right shade of concealer.

Dark under-eye circles, blue veins and red blemishes on your face. How do you dramatically transform your skin, while wiping those faults away? We know concealer can act like an eraser for the skin, but how do we pick the right shade?

Well, to begin with you always want to pick a shade or two lighter than your skin tone; unless you are trying to conceal pimples. In this case, you would need to match the concealer to your skin. The reasoning for this is, you want to apply the concealer AFTER the foundation, and wouldn’t want the spot to be spotlighted.

When it comes to using colored concealers, a yellow base is recommended because it’s more flattering to all skin types, versus a pink based concealer. For darker skin, an orange based concealer is your Holy Grail.

Below, you will find two concealers that come highly recommended from yours truly; ME.

MAC PRO LONGWEAR CONCEALER: RETAIL $22.00

A lightweight fluid concealer that provides medium to full coverage with a comfortable, natural matte finish. Color-true formula lasts up to 15 hours. Helps conceal and correct the look of under-eye circles and discolorations. Comes in a clear glass vial with a matte black pump. 0.30 oz

MAC Mineralize Concealer: Retail $22.00

Enriched with minerals and nourishing botanicals, this creamy, easy-to-blend Concealer covers and perfects while moisturizing the skin. Comfortable and longwearing. Provides medium coverage with a natural luminous finish.

Skin Care + Routine + Fenty Beauty + Clinique

Honestly, I’ve never suffered from any major problems with my skin, so I've never felt the need to carve time out my schedule for any special routine. Washing my face with soap and water was sufficient for me. Approximately two years ago, I started wearing makeup and voila! Out of nowhere came the blemishes and acne. Since then, I realized I needed to quickly implement a routine if I wanted to continue on the path of healthy skin.

Lip Exfoliating: During the winter months, my lips tend to get SUPER dry and cracked. I hate this because not only do they look terrible, but my lipstick never applies right over them. I’ve found a neat and affordable trick to helping my lips stay smooth and sexy. EXFOLIATION! I apply buttercream antioxidant lip scrub by Indi Beauty to my lips, once a week. Prior to cleansing my face, I apply the scrub to my lips and allow it to sit for 1-2 minutes.

Cleansing: I  wet the brush of my skinvigorate cleansing brush by Mark Kay & apply a pump-full  of Clinique liquid facial soap.  I cleanse my face for approximately 1 minute., to include cleaning the lip scrub away as well. Once complete, I rinse the excess soap from my face with warm water.

Toning: Once my face dries, I take a round cotton pad and apply Clinique clarifying lotion 3 to my entire face. I have combination skin and this particular one works perfect for combination to oily skin.

Discover your skin type prior to picking a moisturizer!

I must be honest, I started my skin care routine thinking I had DRY skin. Taking this into consideration, I purchased many  products to accommodate it. However, after much research I realized I wasn't quiet sure of what type skin I have. So, there I was on a journey to discover my skin type, but how?!  I realized a way to find out was by using blotting paper and by coincidence, Rihanna's Fenty Beauty line had just dropped. Of course! I could use her Invisimatte Blotting Papers!  The blotting papers are super simple to use and come in a very sleek container, designed with a mirror.

To discover your skin type, simply dash your face with some cold water, dry your face with a towel. After drying your face with a towel, wait approximately 1 minute to ensure it's completely dry, then blot your face with the blotting paper.  If there's no oil on the paper, you have dry skin. Minimum oil, you can be considered combination skin, maximum oil-you have oily skin.

Moisturizing: After my toner dries, I immediately apply a GENEROUS amount of Clinique moisturizing gel to hydrate my skin.

Sexy, Edgy-Chic, Look

Mocha Fuzzy Lightweight Crop Sweater

Hey glams! I'm actually in love with this outfit. I like to call it my sexy, edgy-chic look!  This fuzzy, cropped sweater reveals just the right amount of  shoulder to give off a shy sex appeal. Its fuzzy material is super soft against my skin and  is lightweight and comfortable to move around in. I'm wearing it dropped off one shoulder, but to give this look a double bang, you can easily drop it off both. For the more conservative look,  just pull it back up. I'm wearing a size Large to achieve this look.

Dark Denim Ripped Knee Skinny Jeans

Denim never get old and is trending more than ever this Fall. These stretchy, skinny jeans are mad comfortable. The knees are ripped but, covered by the boots. Jeans have front and back pockets,  a zippered fly and a bronzed  button closure. I'm wearing a size 13.

Taupe Faux Suede Peep Toe Wooden High Heel Boots

Who doesn't like a nice pair of thigh-high boots? Add some faux suede, a peep toe and open, wooden heel and you have these babies. I consider myself to have "skinny" legs and these boots fit them perfect. The material is a little stretchy, so you do have some room to play with, not much. These boots aren't for the shy at heart, if you're wearing them you definitely will make a statement. Thanks to the side zipper, they're simple to slip in and out of. I'm wearing a size 10.

This is so true and very important for all of us to embrace.

This is a hard concept for most of us to grasp. Deep down inside we all want to be accepted by others but as you said, we won’t be everyone’s cup of tea nor will they be ours. And that’s okay! Good post.
